Flying Fur Mobile Dog Grooming is launching on November 11, 2026 and is hiring our founding groomer. We bring calm, one-on-one grooming to clients’ driveways in a brand-new, purpose-built mobile grooming van: one dog at a time, no cages, no cage dryers, and no salon chaos.

Who We Are

A locally owned, route-based mobile grooming business serving Madrona, Madison Park, Leschi, and nearby Seattle neighborhoods. We schedule by neighborhood, so your day has short drives and predictable routes, with online booking handled for you.

The role

You will run your own van and your own day. You are the face of Flying Fur to our clients, and you will help shape how we groom, schedule, and care for dogs from day one.

Position details

•    Full-time preferred (part-time or on-call backup roles also considered)

•    Start: paid onboarding and van training begin the week of November 1. Launch is November 11.

•    Schedule: set weekly route days by neighborhood, with a predictable schedule

•    Pay: the greater of 40% commission on completed services or a guaranteed $21.30 per hour, plus tips. Pay is never below the Seattle minimum wage for all hours worked.

•    Equipment: fully equipped, climate-controlled van with hydraulic table, high-velocity dryer, and on-board water and power

•    Employment type: W-2 employee (not a contractor)

What you’ll do

•    Provide full grooms and bath-and-brush services for dogs of all sizes and coat types

•    Handle doodles, double coats, seniors, and anxious dogs safely and patiently

•    Talk with clients about style, coat condition, and maintenance, and rebook them before you leave

•    Take before-and-after photos and record appointment notes

•    Keep the van clean, sanitized, and organized, and follow our safety and sanitation standards

•    Drive the van safely between appointments and park it responsibly on residential streets

•    Work independently and show up on time, every time

What we’re looking for

•    2+ years of professional grooming experience (mobile experience is a plus but not required)

•    Confident completing full grooms independently, start to finish, including scissoring and finishing

•    A calm, safety-first handling style

•    Excellent communication and customer service

•    Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. You will drive a large van (Ford Transit 350HD Extended), and we will check your record.

•    Able to stand for long periods and lift or assist dogs safely

•    Reliable, organized, and self-directed

•    Portfolio of your work (photos or social media)
